Church & Dwight Co., Inc. (NYSE: CHD) today reported first quarter results driven by our strong brands, continued share growth and leading innovation. Our first quarter net sales decreased 2.4% to $1,467.1 million, below the Company’s outlook of approximately 1% growth. The company’s brands grew consumption and share in the quarter. However, the Company experienced slowing category growth in the US market and retailers reduced inventory levels. Organic sales decreased 1.2% due to 1.4% lower volume partially offset by positive pricing and mix of 0.2%. Reported EPS was $0.89 and Adjusted EPS was $0.91, a decrease of 5.2%. Adjusted EPS exceeded the Company’s outlook of $0.90.
